New Procedures for Dealing with Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM’S) Introduced at Ireland West Knock

Tomorrow, Saturday 26th July 2008, new EU legislation for dealing with persons with reduced mobility will come into operation at Ireland West Airport Knock as well as all other Irish Airports . Essentially this means that the responsibility for dealing with persons with reduced mobility now falls with the Airport Authority rather than the airline. In addition, assistance has to be provided from the time the person arrives in the car park until they are on board the aircraft and similarly on their return. The new procedures will be audited by the Commission for Aviation Regulation

Passengers with reduced mobility will be provided with assistance at Ireland West Airport Knock free of charge. Our services include meet and assist to/from the aircraft, and airport wheelchairs. We recommend passengers arrange such assistance prior to arrival/departure by calling the Airport Customer Services team: +353 (0)94 93 68100
Ireland West Airport Knock advises all passengers who have a special need and require assistance while travelling, to  note the following points in mind before booking your flight:

  • Inform the airline of your particular needs at the time of booking
