Ireland West Airport Knock becomes first Irish airport to launch mobile responsive website

Ireland West Airport Knock has launched a new mobile responsive version of the airport website,  www.irelandwestairport.com

The new www.irelandwestairport.com mobile responsive site, which is expected to generate over one million hits annually, delivers an intuitive layout and fresh, clean look, while retaining all of the content and popular features found on the desktop site, including live flight status, destinations, important passenger information, news updates, special offers and competitions. The end result provides a clean, user-friendly design with improved functionality to respond to the demands of modern day passengers.

Over 300,000 visitors to www.irelandwestairport.com annually view the site from mobile or tablet devices – including the full spectrum from iPhone to Android and tablets – prompting the strategic decision to create a mobile responsive website that is optimised for all screen resolutions and devices. Passengers will enjoy a seamless content and much improved browsing experience when accessing the airport website on their mobiles and tablets.

Donal Healy, Marketing Manager, Ireland West Airport Knock, said: “It was important to create a site that meets the needs of our passengers and creates a seamless user experience whether you’re at home, on the move or at the airport. We were delighted to partner with local, Galway based, digital marketing company, Jef Media and their Magnify team on this project and we are delighted with what they have delivered for us. Over the coming months, we expect to add further exciting new features to the website, such as online parking and a booking engine that will further enhance the offering for passengers using the airport.”

Jonathan Hayes, MD of Jef Media’s ‘Magnify’ team, added: “The Magnify team worked very closely with Ireland West Airport Knock to identify and maximize the benefits of providing relevant information on a timely basis, via mobile devices, to the airport’s target market. With 64% of people now using smart phones and tablets to research and plan their next holiday, having a mobile responsive website is a priority for the airport as it should be a priority for any business in the tourism sector.“The Magnify team are experts in helping businesses, big and small, realize their full potential online by creating easy to use mobile responsive websites that work on any mobile device.
