You've booked the flights, packed the bags, checked the passports are in date, (and checked again, just to be sure) and your holiday is fast approaching. You’ve done all the hard parts and you’re ready for off, here’s a few quick tips to make your journey through Ireland West Airport as stress-free as possible!
PARKING
There are two ways to park at the airport, you can pre-book your parking online and save up to 20% by visiting our website prebook-irelandwestairport.com. Make sure to book at least 12 hours prior to your expected arrival time at the airport as you cannot make a booking after this time and ensure to read all the instructions carefully for easy entry and exit on your visit. Don’t forget to sign up to receive marketing emails for access to exclusive parking discounts straight to your inbox.
The second way is to turn up at the airport and press for a ticket at the machines at the entry gate, keep this ticket safe and when you get back pop it into the parking payment machines situated in the main terminal. You will find more information on our drive-up parking rates on our website www.irelandwestairport.com.
CHECK-IN
To avoid delays during the busy summer season, we advise all passengers arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to your flight departure time.
Airline check-in desk open 2 hours prior to the flight departure time, if you have already checked-in online and you have no bags to check-in, you don’t need to go to the check-in desks, you can proceed directly towards departures.
DEVELOPMENT FEE
Before going through security, you must first go to the Development Fee desk where all passengers aged 12 years and older are required to pay a €10 development fee. It can be paid by cash or card. The Development Fee is a critical contributor to the ongoing sustainability of the airport and is currently a major support towards the airport’s ongoing transformation program. To see some of the recent projects the Development Fee has supported please visit www.irelandwestairport.com/development_fee.
SECURITY
Airport security has just got a whole lot easier at Ireland West Airport following the introduction of a new next-generation baggage security system earlier this year. Passengers no longer need to remove laptops, liquids, or gels from cabin bags, and you can now bring liquids over 100ml provided they fit in your cabin bag! (Remember to check restrictions in other airports for your return journey)
Follow our simple pre-screening steps to ensure you fly through the scanners with no beeps or delays:
1. Do not remove laptops, electrical items, liquids, or gels from your cabin bags. Simply place your bag in a tray.
2. Remove all coats, jackets, large hoodies, hats, scarves, belts and footwear above the ankle or wedged heels. Place these items into the tray.
3. Remove all items from pockets including wallets, phones, keys, passports, and boarding cards. Place these items into the tray.
4. Proceed through the security scanner, collect your belongings, and return your tray to the stack.
EAT, SHOP & RELAX
At Shopwest, you’ll find cosmetics with savings of up to 30% off the leading high street brands. For passengers travelling to the UK, Tenerife and Lanzarote, you can now enjoy great value duty free prices on the purchase of tobacco and spirits.
Grab a coffee and a choice of hot food, sandwiches and more in Eatwest, our departures restaurant. If you’d like to relax with a drink before your flight, choose from our list of options available at Barwest located right next to the departure gates.
EXECUTIVE LOUNGE
If you’re looking to relax, read the newspaper or even catch up on some last-minute work, the Executive Lounge at Ireland West Airport is the calm, peaceful place for you. For just €20 you can enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks for up to 2 hours prior to your flight. Better still, if you pre-book online you can buy tickets for only €18 on our website prebook-irelandwestairport.com.
BOARDING
Before you know it, your flight is called to the boarding gate! Make sure to have your passport and boarding pass ready for inspection, keeping your passport open on the photo page. Once boarded, sit back, relax and enjoy your flight!
Simple, stress-free and convenient – we look forward to welcoming you to Ireland West Airport this summer.
