Important Notice: This competition is only open to boys and girls kids teams up to and including 'Under-16' categories. Teams can be from any team based sports across the region. Clubs can enter as many teams as they like but only one video/team per club can be shortlisted for the final stage of the competition.
To enter couldn’t be easier, but we’ll break it down for you step-by-step:
The competition will be run on a county by county basis with only teams from Co. Mayo eligible to enter the second round of the competition and only videos from Co. Mayo based kids teams will be eligble for entry at this time.
Step 1
- Take a video of your kids team telling us why your team deserves a new kit. The video can be taken using a video camera or a phone!
- Once you have compiled your video entry visit www.irelandwestairport.com/community/submitVideo and follow the instructions provided to upload your video along with a few introductory lines of text about the kids team you are entering
- Videos should be no longer than 60 seconds in length. Any longer videos will not be considered for inclusion.
Note: Any videos that feature offending material or language will not be eligible for the competition and will be removed immediately from the site. Once the closing date to enter has passed, our team of judges will then view the videos and shortlist the top three videos to proceed to the final stage of the competition.
Step 2
Following the closing date for submitting video entries, our judges will shortlist their three favourite videos, we will then post these videos to the voting section of our website at http://www.irelandwestairport.com/community/viewPage/VoteYourClub where we will open up a ‘live voting poll’ where the public can vote for their favourite video. Once the voting period has ended the video with the most votes will be the winner and will win the top prize with the runners up receiving prizes also.
Unofficial step: spread the word to all of your friends on social media, and have them vote for your entry!
Handy hints and tips to help you get a great team video:
- Think outside the box; the shortlisted videos will be the ones that stand out, so get creative!
- Playing kids sports is all about having fun so make your videos quirky and fun
- Do some of your team members have special skills? Show them off! Action shots work really well, too. (But remember; don’t try anything risky, we don’t want anyone to get hurt!)
Maximising your chances
Once your video entry has been approved your teams video will be uploaded to the ‘video’ section of our website www.irelandwestairport.com/community/submitVideo/ViewEntries and we may also post a link to some or all of the entries on our official Ireland West Airport Facebook page.
If your teams video is lucky enough to be shortlisted for the final stage of the competition it’s up to you to spread the word and get people voting for you to win! So that means you have to spread the word to everyone in your friends list.
